‘Of Inertia and Solidarity’ is a body of work by Malaysian landscape photographer Siva Kumar Ganesan. It depicts the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on Kuala Lumpur and its people. Siva Kumar uses aerial photography to capture the progression of time in Malaysia’s capital city during lockdown. The work illustrates moments in time around Kuala Lumpur during the Movement Control Order (MCO), portraying Kuala Lumpur’s beauty while in a state of inertia, void of human activity, when its occupants came together in solidarity to help the country battle and recover from a global health emergency.
